Crank Terms of Service
Effective date: 14 October 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Crank ("Crank", the "Service"), a non-custodial software interface for interacting with decentralized finance ("DeFi") protocols on the Solana blockchain, available at crank.ing and through associated applications and developer tools. The Service is operated by Engaij, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("Engaij", "we", "us").
By accessing or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Our handling of information is described in the Crank Privacy Policy.
1. Description of the Service
Crank provides software tools, application programming interfaces, a web interface, an iPhone application, and developer tools (including a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server and SDK) that help you construct, review, sign, and broadcast your own blockchain transactions to independent third-party DeFi protocols and venues on the Solana blockchain.
Crank provides the rails only. Crank is a technology provider: it is not a broker, dealer, exchange, trading venue operator for your trades, money transmitter, custodian, bank, or investment adviser. Crank is never the counterparty to your transactions, does not execute transactions on your behalf, and does not guarantee any outcome.
2. Non-Custodial Service; Your Wallet
Crank is non-custodial. Crank never holds customer funds and maintains no pooled or omnibus accounts. You trade from your own wallet: either a wallet you connect (for example, Phantom) or a wallet whose key is held on your own iPhone. Your wallet signs every transaction. Crank never collects, stores, or has access to your seed phrases.
You are solely responsible for safeguarding your wallet, device, and credentials. Loss of access to your wallet means loss of access to your assets, and we cannot recover them.
3. AI Agents and Automation
The Service lets you authorise AI agents to prepare and submit transactions. Agents act only within limits you set, and execution occurs from your own wallet under authority you grant and can revoke. You are responsible for the agents you configure and authorise, including their parameters, limits, and every transaction they initiate. Crank does not exercise discretion over your assets and does not manage your account.
4. Third-Party Venues and Protocols
Transactions prepared through the Service are routed to independent third-party on-chain venues and protocols (for example, Jupiter, Kamino, and Marginfi, subject to availability). These venues and protocols are not operated by Engaij. Their own terms, documentation, fees, and risks apply to your interactions with them. Engaij is not responsible for their performance, security, availability, or conduct.
5. Perpetual Futures and Tokenized Stocks
Perpetual futures ("perps") and tokenized stocks are products of independent third-party protocols, not products of Engaij. Access to them through the Service is geo-restricted:
- US persons are blocked from perps and from tokenized stocks.
- EU/EEA persons are blocked from tokenized stocks.
You must not attempt to circumvent these restrictions. Tokenized stocks are instruments issued by third parties and do not constitute ownership of, or shareholder rights in, any underlying security.
6. Copy Trading Is User-Directed
Where the Service lets you view publicly shared strategy configurations, any "copy trading" is user-directed: you choose to point your own agents at a public strategy, and execution occurs from your own wallet, within your own limits. Published strategies are not investment advice, recommendations, or solicitations; there is no managed account, and no person acquires discretion over your funds. Past activity of any strategy does not predict future results.
7. Sanctions Compliance and Prohibited Jurisdictions
Every value-bearing action through the Service is screened against the US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) list. Screening fails closed: if a screen cannot be completed, the action is refused.
Use of the Service is prohibited from, or on behalf of any person in, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Russia, Belarus, or any other comprehensively sanctioned jurisdiction, and by any person subject to applicable sanctions. You represent that you are not such a person and are not acting for one.
8. Fiat On/Off-Ramp (MoonPay)
Fiat on- and off-ramping (buying and selling SOL and USDC by card or Apple Pay) is provided by MoonPay, an independent third party, directly to and from your own wallet. MoonPay performs its own customer identification (KYC) and payment processing under its own terms and privacy policy, which apply to your use of it. Crank adds no fee to MoonPay transactions. Engaij is not a party to, and is not responsible for, your transactions with MoonPay.
9. Technology Service Fee
Crank charges a disclosed technology service fee on trades and other value-bearing actions routed through the Service. The fee is separate from, and in addition to, any fees charged by third-party venues or networks, and is entirely separate from MoonPay (Crank adds no fee to MoonPay transactions).
- Base fee of 0.75% (75 basis points), reduced by monthly volume tiers: 0.75% up to $1M, 0.55% from $1M to $10M, and 0.40% above $10M.
- Actions involving security-classified assets (including tokenized stocks) carry a flat 0.75% fee, with no volume tiering and no discounts.
- Minimum fee of $0.05 per action.
- Hard maximum of 2.50% (250 basis points).
- Read-only actions are free.
The fee is disclosed before you confirm an action, is the same regardless of venue or route, and Crank receives no payment for order flow. The fee schedule in effect at the time of an action governs that action.
10. No Investment, Legal, or Tax Advice
Nothing in the Service constitutes investment, financial, legal, tax, or other professional advice, a recommendation, or a solicitation to buy or sell any asset. All information is provided for informational purposes only. You are solely responsible for evaluating the merits and risks of every transaction and should consult your own professional advisers.
11. Risk Disclosures
Using the Service involves significant risk, including total loss of funds. You accept, among others:
- Volatility risk. Digital asset prices can change rapidly and severely.
- Smart-contract risk. On-chain programs may contain defects or be exploited.
- Venue and protocol risk. Third-party venues may fail, halt, be exploited, or change terms.
- Leverage and liquidation risk. Leveraged positions can be liquidated, with losses exceeding expectations.
- Agent and automation risk. Automated strategies and AI agents can malfunction, act on bad data, or produce unintended trades within the limits you set.
- Irreversibility. Blockchain transactions are final once confirmed and cannot be reversed by Engaij or anyone else.
- Regulatory risk. Laws applicable to digital assets are evolving and may adversely affect the Service or your ability to use it.
12. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into these Terms. You represent that your use of the Service is lawful in your jurisdiction and that you comply with Sections 5 and 7.
13. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to use the Service to:
- engage in market manipulation, wash trading, or fraud;
- evade sanctions or the geo-restrictions described in these Terms;
- violate any applicable law or the rights of any third party;
- interfere with, attack, probe, or attempt unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure; or
- misuse automated access in a way that degrades the Service for others.
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service for violations of these Terms or where required by law. Because the Service is non-custodial, suspension of the Service never affects your control of your own wallet and assets.
14. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, interfaces, and content (excluding third-party protocols and your own data), is owned by Engaij or its licensors. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service in accordance with these Terms.
15. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any third-party protocol, venue, or service will perform as expected.
16. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Engaij and its officers, directors, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, assets, or data, arising out of or relating to the Service. Our aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the technology service fees you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim or one hundred US dollars ($100).
17. Indemnity
You will indemnify and hold harmless Engaij and its officers, directors, employees, and affiliates from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your transactions, your agents, or your breach of these Terms or applicable law.
18. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its applicable rules, seated in Delaware, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction. You and Engaij each waive any right to participate in a class action or class-wide arbitration; claims must be brought in an individual capacity.
19. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
